Job vacancies remain stable in Scotland despite Brexit turmoil

Professional vacancies across Scotland have increased 1% since this time last year. That is according to new research from the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), the leading trade body representing the recruitment sector.

The data, provided by recruitment software company, Innovantage, which analyses monthly hiring trends in the UK, also reveals that despite job growth remaining relatively flat, the region is still performing better than many areas, such as the West Midlands, South West and the North East.

Commenting on the data, Moya Rylands, Regional Director at APSCo said:

“Scotland has always been a fantastic region for job opportunities, however, with Brexit around the corner, it’s no surprise that there has been no major vacancy growth. However, there are still many pockets of positivity. The accounting and finance sector is booming, with job openings up by 32% and the legal sector too, with vacancies up by 33%.”
