Job vacancies soar in the North West despite Brexit turmoil

Professional vacancies have increased 5% since this time last year across the North West despite Brexit turmoil. That is according to new research from the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), the leading trade body representing the recruitment sector.

The data, provided by recruitment software company, Innovantage, which analyses monthly hiring trends in the UK, also reveals that the North West is outperforming every other area in the UK in terms of vacancy growth. The second best region for job opportunities was the South East, with demand for professionals rising by 3%, and the North East is statistically the worst, with roles decreasing by 11%.

Commenting on the data, Moya Rylands, Regional Director at APSCo said:

“In recent years, the North West region has become a fantastic area for job opportunities. The region is bucking the UK’s trend of falling vacancies, as Brexit fear stalls business growth. Here in the region there are several sectors thriving, such as accounting and finance, which has seen demand increase by 32% and legal, which is up by 21%.”
