This week's Yorkshire appointments
Jack Whale and George Biggin, Townends Accountants LLP
Chartered accountancy firm Townends Accountants LLP has employed Jack Whale and George Biggin as trainee accountants in its Goole office.
The pair spent a year working as interns with the firm as part of their degrees and now have rejoined Townends on a full-time basis.
Becky de Cobain, partner at Townends, said: “We are really excited to welcome Jack and George back to join the team on a permanent basis. They demonstrated exceptional skills whilst with us as interns and it will be great to see how their careers develop.”
George added: “I’m pleased to be back at Townends and working towards the joint ACA and CTA qualifications with a great support network behind me.
“Three weeks in and it feels like I never left - in a good way! I really can’t wait to see what the next three years hold.”
Nick Hill, Open Communications
Following its move from Nostell Priory to Wakefield’s city centre, Open Communications has appointed former Bdaily and Business Desk journalist Nick Hill to the team as PR account executive.
Open Communications’ director, Lindsey Davies, said: “The new office has given us the change of scenery that we needed. It was the right time for us to move and we wanted to come back into the centre, which is where we started nearly 11 years ago.
“Nick has joined us at an exciting time and has fit right in. Having the space we need and a team that are all as passionate about delivering results for our clients as we are is great.”
Nick added: “Having worked in journalism for years, the move to PR wasn’t something I took lightly but within the first few weeks I knew it was the right decision for me.
“Not only do we work with some really interesting brands but I’m learning new skills every day. There’s certainly no time to get bored and no two days are ever the same. I’m really enjoying my new role.”
