Industrial scheme at Doncaster Sheffield Airport gets go-ahead

Planning consent has been granted for an industrial development scheme at the site of Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

Trebor Developments and partner Hillwood has secured permission for a two unit development totalling 105,035 sq ft known at Avion, located at the Aero Centre on the site of the airport.

Work on the scheme, which will deliver units to be occupied by industrial and distribution sectors, is set to begin in November this year, with scheduled completion in the second quarter of 2020.

The firms agreed terms with Peel Investments earlier this year to acquire the site, with Trebor also currently seeking permission for the 409,000 sq ft Gateway 4 development.

Bob Tattrie, managing partner for Trebor, commented: “Another detailed consent allowing us to deliver quality, cost-effective accommodation to the Yorkshire market. We will shortly be on site delivering these excellent units, which we believe will be attractive to a range of occupiers.

“We will be delivering in excess of 600,000 sq ft of industrial speculative accommodation in Yorkshire over the next 12 months, with potential for this to expand much further as new sites come forward.”
