Personalised video firm used by Vodafone secures £6m investment

A personalised video advertising company based in London has secured £6m Series A investment from Smedvig Capital to expand their services.

Spirable, which specialises in video marketing technology, has secured the funding from the venture capital firm in order to enhance its proposition.

Smedvig Capital join existing investors Frontline Ventures, Downing Ventures, and 24 Haymarket in backing the firm.

Since its launch, Spirable has created and distributed over 100 million personalised videos, in over 50 countries, as well as becoming an official Facebook Marketing Partner.

Spirable’s platform automates the process, creating and optimising tailored video ads across social media, email, messenger and display channels, enabling brands to scale-up their personalised video production using data such as location, pricing and weather to change the content people see in real-time.

Telecoms firm Vodafone used the platform to execute an award-winning campaign that saw sales of their own-brand devices increase by 100 per cent and drove up to a 50 per cent increase in ad performance.

In addition to Vodafone, Johnson & Johnson and Domino’s have also used the system to deliver contextualised content to their target markets.

Vodafone global brand and media director, Sara Martins de Oliveira, commented: “The Spirable platform has transformed how we create video content. Automating a previously manual process and allowing us to scale in a way that was once impossible.

“The data-driven personalisation element means we are now connecting with our audience in more meaningful ways, resulting in better performing campaigns and an uplift in sales.”
