Independent barbers makes the cut with first ever shop at Leeds' Merrion Centre

A new independent barbershop is the latest business to join the Merrion Centre retail complex in Leeds.

Ambassador Barbershop has opened its first store in the shopping centre in the Arena Quarter of the city.

Founded by local entrepreneur Joshua Waite, who has over 8 years of experience in barbering, the shop has taken a unit on the upper balcony level of the centre.

Joshua commented: “It has been my ambition to set up a barbershop to fulfil my passion for the craft of barbering and the city of Leeds; one which bridges the gap between aspects of male hairdressing and traditional barbering, with great service and value for money.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of the thriving Merrion Centre which continues to grow with new independent business opening all the time.

“It gives this side of the city a real sense of community and opportunity for folk like myself wanting to play a hand in the game. I am very much looking forward to networking with all my fellow independents and customers!”

Helen Green, associate director for the Merrion Centre, added: “We’re very excited to be the chosen location for the first Ambassador Barbershop, contributing further to the Merrion Centre’s existing eclectic mix of local, specialist and niche independent offerings.”
