Planning application submitted for over 200 new homes in Surrey town

CALA Homes (Thames) has submitted a planning application to Runnymede Borough Council to deliver a development of 212 new homes to Chertsey.

This follows on from the acquisition of part of the former NHS site from Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals and Surrey and Borders Partnership earlier this year.

The planning submission is said to mark a milestone for the project with approval expected in January 2020. Demolition of the vacant buildings will commence later this year to allow development to start in early 2020. The first homes could be occupied later that year.

Situated to the west of St Peter’s Hospital, the previously developed land will be transformed, creating a development of family homes set amongst open spaces near the adjoining Homewood Park.

Rob Hall, regional land director at CALA Homes (Thames), said: “We have worked closely with Runnymede Borough Council to ensure the delivery of a high-quality development that provides much needed housing in the borough.

“This landmark development will significantly improve the setting and enjoyment of Homewood Park for both residents and visitors of the area.”
