New dining concept inspired by Sussex countryside is coming to London's West End
A new British dining concept is opening on a popular Soho restaurant site.
‘Sussex’ is the first West End project from the Gladwin Brothers, and is said to be inspired by the Sussex countryside through classic and progressive cooking.
Ingredients will be sourced directly from the Gladwins’ family farm and vineyard or local supplier’s chosen by the three brothers, Richard, Oliver and Gregory, in order to ensure sustainability.
Sussex will be situated on Frith Street, on the former site of Anthony Demeter’s seminal restaurant, Arbutus, and prior to that, Bruno Loubet’s first solo restaurant, Bistro Bruno.
Following on from The Shed, in Notting Hill, Rabbit, on the Kings Road, as well as Nutbourne, in Battersea, the new Gladwin Brothers restaurant will launch next month.
Sussex will mark a step up for chef patron and co-founder, Oliver Gladwin. He will be taking his inspiration from his knowledge of classical cooking, alongside his interest in rural, merging home-grown, heritage dishes with modern cooking techniques.
Sussex will be opening in Soho next month (October 2019).
