New Non-Executive Director Joins Port of Tyne
Julia Prescot joins the board at the Port of Tyne, one of the UK’s major deep-sea ports in North East England - an acknowledged expert in managing global infrastructure investments in energy, transport and social infrastructure. Julia is Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Meridiam, a global long term infrastructure fund based in Paris with around £7bn funds under management, investing in UK, Europe, North America and Africa. Meridiam, funded by pension funds and insurance companies, is a developer, investor and asset manager and has created in the region of £60bn of new infrastructure. Meridiam is a major proponent of responsible and community based sustainable investment. Julia is also a Commissioner sitting on the UK’s National Infrastructure Commission. She is a Director of the Fulcrum Infrastructure Group, and Chair of Neuconnect Limited, a company developing a major energy interconnector between the UK and Germany. She sits on the Advisory Panel of Glennmont Renewable Energy Fund, is a Non-Executive Director of the International Project Finance Association and an Honorary Professor at the Bartlett School, University College London. She is the Co-founder of the group Women Leaders in Infrastructure. Her previous roles have included Head of European Infrastructure for the Bank of Scotland, Head of Project Advisory for Charterhouse Bank and Head of Project Finance at Hill Samuel.
