The Body Shop expands Europe and Asia presence with new franchise agreement
A healthcare group specialising in services in Georgia has signed a franchise with cosmetics and skincare giant The Body Shop.
The deal will allow Georgia Healthcare Group (GHG) to operate the franchise in the country for an initial term of 10 years, with the intention to open three flagship stores
With more than 3000 owned and franchised stores in over 70 countries, this deal marks The Body Shop’s first step into the former Soviet republic, which sits at the intersection between Europe and Asia.
Qasar Qayuum, executive MD for EMEA The Body Shop, commented: “We are excited to bring The Body Shop brand to Georgia with GHG, a strong local player with extensive market expertise.
“For over 43 years, The Body Shop has believed that business has the power to make the right kind of difference in the world, and we are happy to enable the Georgian people to be part of this great heritage and collective.”
Nikoloz Gamkrelidze, CEO of Georgia Healthcare Group, added: “I want to thank the members of both teams, who have worked very hard on this project, which we believe will be extremely successful for the group.
“Adding The Body Shop brand to our portfolio will upgrade our range of personal care products and further contribute to our business growth.
“Partnering with this internationally recognised brand, capitalising on its knowledge and experience, will increase our pharmacy and distribution business brand awareness and the number of its loyal customers.”
