‘Super’ day out for Bolton Lads and Girls
40 youngsters from local charity Bolton Lads and Girls Club will enjoy a thrilling night of sporting entertainment at the Theatre of Dreams, Old Trafford, on Saturday 12 October as they watch the Super League Grand Final, thanks to leading Manchester law firm, Ward Hadaway.
The annual Super League Grand Final is the biggest night in the rugby league calendar. Ward Hadaway decided to use their ongoing partnership with Super League for the benefit of youngsters at the local charity. They have provided tickets for 40 young people to enjoy the game. The children will enjoy pre-match entertainment from Shed Seven, before Laura Wright performs her spine-tingling rendition of Jerusalem, ahead of the players taking to the pitch for the high octane match.
Bolton Lads and Girls Club has supported children aged 8-19 for over 130 years with one in four children from Bolton being members. They run a range of programmes including creative arts, sports, mentoring and more. The Club, now in its 13th decade, provides a haven for children and is open seven days a week.
It is run by a dedicated team of professionals and supported by an army of volunteers who give their time to the young people.
Charlotte Beck, a Bolton native and Partner in the family team at Ward Hadaway, said; “Our partnership with Super League provides us with lots of great opportunities to enjoy rugby league throughout the year as well as sponsoring the Spirit of Super League Award in recognition of the players who go beyond their professional commitments with a strong emphasis placed on sportsmanship.
“We saw an opportunity to extend our partnership out into the community by offering 40 children the chance to enjoy this fantastic evening of sporting entertainment, a real highlight in the rugby league calendar. It’s a pleasure to be able to supply the tickets and I hope all the young people have a night they’ll never forget.”
Kelly McFadden of Bolton Lads and Girls Club said; “We were bowled over when Ward Haaway offered the tickets for the young people to enjoy. It’s an absolute dream for some of them to be able to watch their heroes in action, I’m sure they’ll all have an amazing evening.”
