Sweet taste of success for independent dessert shop with new Teesside premises
An independent dessert business is set for growth after securing a unit in a Teesside retail complex.
Melt Desserts has agreed a five-year lease for unit 14 at St Peter’s House in the Pavilion Shopping Centre in Thornaby-on-Tees.
Serving a range of desserts, ice creams, waffles and seasonal dishes, Melt joins retailers such as Wilko, Boyes, Home Bargains, Boots and Iceland, as well as the Golden Eagle Hotel, in the 270,000 sq ft complex.
The sweet treats specialist is the latest to find a new home at the shopping centre, which was acquired by property and investment company LCP earlier this year.
Julian Diamond, retail director at LCP, commented: “Since we acquired The Pavilion Shopping Centre… we’ve been working hard to invest in what is an important retail offer for local shoppers.
“Welcoming a new, independent retailer is good news because it adds to the vibrancy and diversity of the centre.”
