Renowned steak restaurant in Leeds celebrates anniversary with new hire

A steak restaurant championing British agriculture and produce is celebrating its four-year anniversary in Leeds.

Owned by ABP Food Group, Stockdales of Yorkshire first opened its doors in Leeds in 2015.

Since opening at the old Pearl Assurance building - a Grade II listed property on South Parade - Stockdales has secured its reputation as ‘one of the best’ steak restaurants in Leeds, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Growing its team over four years, the kitchen is now headed by Weike Zhao, who has several years of experience working in fine dining restaurants and learnt her craft from mentor Derek Boath, who used to work at a 3 Michelin Star establishment in New York.

Stockdales’ general manager, Victoria Hatton, said: “We are incredibly delighted to be celebrating our fourth birthday here in Leeds.

“When Stockdales opened back in 2015, the vision was to provide people with fine cuisine sourced and produced in Yorkshire, and this is something that is still integral to the restaurant today.

“In my short time here, we have been able to match the expectations set by ourselves, and customers old and new.”
