300 new jobs for Darlington with new Grade A offices in pipeline

The new owners of Darlington business park Lingfield Point are set to create up to 300 jobs by converting a former industrial unit into Grade A offices.

London-based real estate funds manager Frogmore is now on site speculatively developing 25,795 sq ft of office space.

Property agents Knight Frank and Cushman & Wakefield are marketing the space internationally to find a tenant.

With completion expected in May 2020, the new space could potentially attract a major office occupier due to its open-plan, single-level floor plate.

Patrick Matheson, partner at Knight Frank Newcastle, said: “This new office is going to be very contemporary with exposed services and lots of natural light thanks to the north roof light design, creating a fantastic working environment.”

Lingfield Point is an 85-acre business park two miles from the centre of Darlington. It was created on a historic industrial site that was previously home to Europe’s biggest wool manufacturing plant developed by Patons and Baldwins.

Greg Davison, director at Cushman’s, added: “For any occupier looking to locate their business in the UK regions, Darlington, and Lingfield Point in particular, offers a fantastic opportunity.

“It offers a strong labour pool, combined with an enviable life/work balance for staff, all within easy reach of London and the wider region via the East Coast mainline.”
