Expansion as logistics leader's sales figures rise
A leading Lancashire transport logistics specialist which has been named as one of Britain’s top companies in the Inspire Britain report has announced record latest sales figures as it continues its growth path.
GBA Services, based in Preston, which also recently made it into the top 100 owner-managed businesses in the North West, reported an increase in sales of 35 per cent in 2018 against the previous year and expects to increase turnover by a further 20 per cent to more than £60million for the current financial year.
Chief Operating Officer Peter Zak said: “With many traditional markets shrinking, we expanded our services in retail and e-commerce sectors particularly with several blue-chip customers which gives us confidence for sustained growth over the coming year.
“At the same time, we are cautious as we make the transition through Brexit so we remain optimistic but focused.”
GBA was recently named as one of the top 1,000 companies in the UK in the Inspire Britain 2019 Report by the London Stock Exchange Group, which combined key financial performance indicators and sector benchmarks.
Specialising in transporting goods by road, air and sea, GBA serves diverse industries across the UK, Europe and worldwide including aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics and tech, industrial, pharma and high security. Goods transported range from automotive, aeronautical components, high-value goods and pharmaceuticals.
GBA Services, a family-run business started in 1987, has grown to become a leader in the field of logistics transport with more than 400 employees operating from 18 locations across the UK and worldwide. The company operates its own dedicated fleet of modern vehicles providing GPS, vehicle telematics tracking systems with options for temperature-control and high-security.
