New lawyers for Higgs & Sons
Leading Black Country law firm Higgs & Sons has welcomed six new legal trainees.
Victoria Boucher, Laura Hackett, Jagdeep Lall, Elizabeth Owen, Charlotte Tsang and Lucy Williams are the latest recruits to what is regarded as one of the leading training programmes in the region.
More than half of the firm’s existing partners were trained ‘in-house’ and Higgs remains committed identifying and growing its own talent.
Sophie Wardell, HR Director at Higgs said: “Our trainee programme is instrumental in our determination to deliver a combination of the very best legal services and client care.
“We are delighted to welcome our new trainees to the firm. We are also thrilled to have retained all of our second-year trainees.”
Victoria graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2017 with a 1st class honours degree in Law, having volunteered at their pro-bono clinic and worked on a variety of projects.
With a background in retail and marketing, Laura gained a Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP University and an MSc in Law and Business. She was a corporate paralegal with Higgs for two years prior to becoming a trainee solicitor.
Jagdeep previously worked as a paralegal in corporate and commercial teams, with her most recent role focusing on company secretarial work, while Elizabeth joins Higgs having studied first the GDL ad then the LCP at the University of Law in Birmingham.
Charlotte graduated from the University of Oxford in 2016 with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. After a year working and volunteering, she studied for the GDL at the University of Law in Birmingham and completed the LPC MSc at the University of Law in Reading.
Finally Lucy studied law at Durham University and completed the LCP in Leeds.
Former second year trainees Emma Williams, Shana Quinn, Matthew Norgrove, Jenny Tetlow, Ellie Norton and Rebecca Birch have now completed their two-year training programme at Higgs and have been retained by the firm as qualified solicitors.
