Significant growth sees SCALA’s profit and revenue soar

SCALA, a leading provider of management services for the supply chain and logistics sector, has reported a record-breaking year for turnover and profitability.

Profit before tax (EBITDA) has increased by a staggering 72% from 17/18 to 18/19, due to the company’s continued expansion both in the UK and across the world. Turnover has also grown by 40%.

Headcount has increased by 28% after a number of significant senior hires. This includes Nigel Smith who joined as executive director, alongside Oliver Cofler and Rob Wright who both joined as directors, respectively.

Over the past year, SCALA has witnessed impressive growth in its core logistics consulting services and seen highly successful implementations of its Cost to Serve systems. This is in addition to the roll-out of its Demand Driven supply chain management systems.

A further contributing factor to the business’s success has been its expansion in China and winning a number of significant projects with major multi-national grocery and FMCG manufacturers in Europe, US and Canada.

SCALA has also recently partnered with global supply chain software developer LLamasoft to give SCALA and its clients access to LLamasoft’s cutting-edge supply chain modelling and decisioning technology. The software will enhance SCALA’s ability to support its clients and with ambitious plans for international growth, the partnership will also enable SCALA to compete with global consultancies for major strategic projects, both domestically and across Europe.

John Perry, managing director at SCALA, said: “It’s fantastic that businesses from across the world are turning to us for supply chain, logistics and procurement expertise and these latest figures are testament to that success.

“We are expecting to grow at a similar rate next year and a key part of this will be partnering with key organisations, such as LLamasoft, that will help to further strengthen our core expertise in optimising supply chain and logistics operations.”
