Warrington solicitors continue to team up with rugby charity as part of Will Week

Warrington-based Watsons Solicitors is once again hoping to convert its support for a charitable cause into valuable funds as part of its annual Will Week event.

Will Week, which runs between November 11-15, allows people to receive a free will in return for a donation to the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation.

The foundation provides life-changing opportunities through sport, education, health and the arts, which enrich, inspire and celebrate the Warrington community.

The annual programme has won the backing of Warrington Wolves legend Ben Westwood who visited Watsons to set up his own will after retiring from rugby league at the end of the season.

Anyone who has a will prepared by Watsons Solicitors during Will Week will be entered into a prize drawer to win a Warrington Wolves shirt signed by Ben Westwood.

He said: “It’s great that Watsons are supporting the charitable foundation through Will Week.

“I was very new to all this but within 10 or 15 minutes, I had everything sorted. It was simple and straight forward and the staff were really helpful.

“Wills are important, everyone should have one in place.

“I’ve waited until I’m 38 to get mine but I’d advise everyone to come down to Watsons Solicitors and get one sorted for that peace of mind.”

The Warrington law firm has raised thousands of pounds during each annual Will Week since 2017 for the sporting charity’s heritage activities, which helped with the upkeep of a history wall on the south stand of the club’s Halliwell Jones stadium.

Alex Mitchell, partner and head of the private client department said: “We have a fabulous relationship with Warrington Wolves and the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation and are thrilled to be continuing this.

“All of the money goes to the foundation. We initially set this up in 2017 and it’s quite satisfying to have raised quite a lot of money for the foundation that does exceptional work for people in the community.

“As a firm, we try to give something back to local charities and this particular week is designated for Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation.”

Discussing the importance of seeking professional support when it comes to preparing a will, Alex explained the level of support Watsons can offer.

She added: “The majority of the work we do is advising people in relation to the preparation of wills or administering people’s estates.

“It’s really important for people to seek professional advice in relation to will writing.

“We are experts in the field with appropriate client care procedures in place to ensure the quality of the service stands out when it comes to using a professional law firm.

“If anyone wants to have a will written, it’s as easy as contacting our offices to set up an appointment. Bring along some identification and we’ll take people through the process for just a donation to the foundation.”

Watsons Solicitors, which has been established for more than 60 years, specialises in family law, employment law, wills and probate, and conveyancing.

Its experienced solicitors each hold accreditations and memberships of professional bodies relevant to their expertise, while the firm’s partners oversee all areas of work.
