Miller Homes Visits Drighlington Primary School For Health and Safety Talk

Miller Homes, who is constructing a development of 43 homes in Drighlington, has visited its community primary school to educate the children on site safety.

Drighlington Primary School, close to Miller Homes’ Kings Mews development, welcomed Tony Haigh, SHE Manager and Natalie Moore, Sales Manager where the children enjoyed a fun presentation from Tony, with a very serious message at its core.

“Building sites can be a source of fascination for children, especially those that love playing with toy diggers and construction games,” said Tony. “It is therefore very important to us that we teach the children why building sites are not places to play and how we keep them, our staff and any visitors safe at all times.”

During the talk the children participated with enthusiasm and at the end a number of questions were put to Tony for him to help the children gain even greater understanding.

“This type of presentation from the staff at Miller Homes helps us reinforce key messages in a fun and interesting way and the children always react well to visitors that we have in school,” said Laura Blackburn, Deputy Head Teacher, Drighlington Primary School. “Our thanks go to Tony and Natalie for supporting us in educating our children with wider community messages and we look forward to working with them in the future.

Natalie commented; “It was a pleasure to return to this school and support the next generation of students after our last visit, almost 5 years ago, during the construction of our ‘The Brookes’ development. We are proud to be part of the Drighlington Community once again and to be providing quality homes for people to be able to live in the place that they choose to call home.”
