Yorkshire letting firm expands into Humberside with ‘major’ acquisition deal
An independent residential letting agent has expanded across the region with a new ‘major’ acquisition deal.
Yorkshire firm Linley & Simpson is set to launch an office in Hull following its acquisition of of the lettings arm of family-run agency Beercocks.
Linley & Simpson, which operates 17 branches across West and North Yorkshire, has added almost 500 properties to its portfolio through the acquisition.
Chief executive and co-founder of Linley & Simpson, Will Linley, commented: “While Linley & Simpson may be a new name for Hull and its surrounding communities, our pedigree in residential lettings spans more than 22 years.
“To have acquired the lettings arm of a market-leading agency of Beercocks’ calibre provides us with the best possible launchpad on which to build.
“We are thrilled to launch in Hull at a time when its appeal for landlords and tenants is growing – last year it was named as the third-most improved UK city as a place to live and work. It has long been a strategic target for expansion.”
The deal is Linley & Simpson’s ninth acquisition to take place since the firm secured the backing of mid-market private equity investor LDC in June 2018.
Gareth Marshall, investment director at LDC in Yorkshire & North East, added: “The ambition of the team and their commitment to the business’ expansion strategy has been clear to us since we invested in Linley & Simpson. This latest acquisition proves that.
“While on the face of it this deal represents the business dipping its toe into the Hull market, we have no doubt that it will lead to a far bigger expansion of its offering across Humberside.
“We look forward to watching Linley & Simpson go from strength-to-strength and supporting the team on the next phase of their ambitious growth journey.”
