Leading UK chemical supplier snapped up in niche acquisition

**Leading UK chemical supplier, Aquatreat Group Ltd, has been purchased by provider of specialist regulatory and compliance services, Marlowe PLC, for an undisclosed sum. ** Representing the latest in a series of recent acquisitions by Marlowe PLC, the deal will help the business to further secure its position in the niche water treatment and hygiene marketplace. The organisation also delivers services across a number of other sectors with a high regulatory focus, including health and safety, fire safety, air testing and quality and environmental services.

Incorporated 46 years ago, Surrey-based Aquatreat is a leading UK supplier of speciality chemicals to the water treatment and associated industries. The manufacturer works closely with a number of strategic supply partners to provide specialist brand name chemicals at the forefront of the latest technological developments.

Led by corporate finance director, Kevin Paget, accountancy firm Menzies LLP advised Aquatreat’s shareholders on all aspects of the sale, including the deal structure, due diligence, commercial aspects of the legal agreement and post-acquisition matters. Faye Bargery and Andrew Tinker of Irwin Mitchell solicitors acted as legal advisors to the shareholders of Aquatreat.
