Miller Homes Supports Christmas Gift Charity Appeal
Christmas is a time for giving and one Yorkshire housebuilder is encouraging people in the region to add an extra present or two to their shopping this year for a very worthwhile cause.
Miller Homes in Yorkshire has nominated all of the sales centres at its Yorkshire based developments, and its head office in Wakefield, as drop off points for the 2019 Mission Christmas campaign, a gift appeal co-ordinated by 22 local radio stations that are part of the Bauer Group including Hallam FM, Radio Aire, Viking FM and TFM in Yorkshire.
“This is a fantastic charity appeal and one which relies solely on the support of people across the various regions,” said Sarah Whinfrey, Regional Sales Manager, Miller Homes Yorkshire. “All people need to do is buy that extra gift when they are shopping, or perhaps even doing the weekly supermarket shop, and take it their nearest development sales centre where they will then be collected and given to the appeal.”
Age categories for the appeal are 0-3, 3-5, 5-7, 7-9, 9-12 and 12-18. The first and latter categories are the ones that they tend to have the least donations for. Last year the appeal helped over 28,000 in our region and with one in three children living in poverty the appeal has never been so important.
“The more businesses we have on board helping to spread the word about our appeal the better,” said Allan Ogle, Charity Manager, Hallam FM. “This way we hope that we can make our 2019 appeal bigger and better than ever before and our thanks go to Miller Homes for pledging their support too.”
“We would love to receive at least 250 gifts this year and call on our residents and those living in the communities where we are building to support this,” said Sarah. “Please help us to help children across our region who would not receive a Christmas gift this year were it not for the generosity and thoughtfulness of others.”
Gifts should remain unwrapped, although sheets and rolls of wrapping paper are also gratefully received. Food and chocolates cannot be accepted but clothing that is appropriate as a gift is ideal however, tags etc should all be kept on. The last day for accepting gifts is Sunday 15th December at Miller Homes developments and Tuesday 17th December at all other drop off points.
Developments accepting gifts are Corner Fields, Skipton; Brompton Fold, Apperley Bridge; Milby Grange, Boroughbridge; Graves Fold, Sheffield; City Fields, Wakefield; Holme View, Scholes; Kings Mews, Drighlington and Sherwood Croft, Thorpe Willoughby.
