A spectacular switch on for Manor Walks Christmas Lights
Cramlington’s countdown to Christmas was heralded by the switching on of a brand new scheme of Christmas lights at Manor Walks Shopping & Leisure, in partnership with Cramlington Town Council.
Britain’s Got Talent Winner Ashleigh and her canine companion, Crufts agility finalist Sully, flicked the switch on the centre’s spectacular illuminations alongside panto stars from Jack and the Beanstalk at Whitley Bay Playhouse and Metro Radio’s Steve & Karen.
Hundreds of shoppers enjoyed an action-packed family event that offered lots of fun for all ages, including face painting, a giant snow globe, Frozen Princesses, an animatronic reindeer and of course Santa with his elves!
The wet weekend weather didn’t dampen the spirits of the excited crowd, who were entertained by local favourites Cramlington Steel Band, as well as X-Factor contestant Millie Scott, before Ashleigh and Sully performed their hugely engaging routine.
Nick Lambert, General Manager at Manor Walks Shopping & Leisure, said: “We always look forward to welcoming our loyal shoppers to this annual fun-packed day of activity to kick start their festive season in style – and this year certainly didn’t disappoint, with the added advantage of a brand new array of lights illuminating the centre.”
Loraine De Simone, The Town Mayor of Cramlington, added: “We’re thrilled to have partnered with Manor Walks for the Christmas switch on. This event brings the Cramlington community together in order to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year and is one of the much-loved highlights in the town’s calendar.”
