Uber to discover London license fate
Taxi ride hailing app Uber will today discover whether it has been granted a new license to operate in its largest market outside the US.
The firm will learn if it has secured a license to continue operating in the city of London following a lengthy investigation into its activities.
Uber was stripped of its license to operate in London more than two years ago due to concerns around transparency, corporate responsibility and public safety.
Transport for London rejected the firm’s application for a license, with particular concern around its use of Greyball software - which can block regulatory bodies from gaining full access to the app.
Uber was granted its latest temporary two month licence to operate in September, with TFL requesting further information from the firm.
