Local housebuilder helps charity support talented youngsters of Hebburn

Local five star housebuilder, Barratt Developments North East, which includes both the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, has launched an initiative designed to support charities and organisations in the areas in which it builds. The Community Fund sees the housebuilder donate £1,000 each month to a community group or charity across the North East region. As part of the scheme, Barratt Developments is supporting local charity, The Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust.

The Together Forever Trust was set up by the family and friends of Chloe Rutherford and Liam Curry, two teenagers who tragically lost their lives in the Ariana Grande Manchester Arena concert bombing in May 2017. The Trust honours the young couple through their love of performing arts, music and sports: Chloe was a talented singer-songwriter and Liam was a brilliant cricketer.

The Trust has an application procedure in which talented young performers can apply for a bursary to support them with costs of equipment, training, coaching qualifications, travel expenses and auditions. Barratt Developments’ £1,000 donation will contribute towards this month’s board review, in which the nine board trustees will select budding talent to support financially.

Natalie Donnelly, Sales Manager at Bedewell Court development, commented: “When we heard about the charity from two of our residents at Bedewell Court, we just knew the Together Forever Trust was the right fit for our Community Fund scheme and we are delighted to donate £1,000 towards supporting ambitious young talent in Hebburn and the surrounding areas!”

Mark Rutherford, Chloe’s dad and Trustee at The Together Forever Trust, commented: “I would like to extend my thanks to Barratt Developments for their generous donation towards this month’s funding. My daughter Chloe and her boyfriend Liam were so passionate about everything to do with music, arts, performance and sport, and it is a true pleasure to support like-minded youngsters in following their dreams. We are always grateful for new sponsors and support from the local community and we hope we can continue to support young stars in memory of Chloe and Liam.”
