Slow down for a happy town! Yorkshire housebuilder teams up with Harden Primary School for road safety awareness

Local housebuilder, David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, has been continuing to raise awareness of road safety with pupils from Harden Primary School, who visited their Hewenden Ridge development to see their very own road safety signs on display.

Earlier this year, the children were invited to design posters highlighting the dangers of driving too fast on residential roads. Out of the designs, three winning artists were picked, Lily age 7, Lottie age 9 and Abigail age 9.

Andy Firth, Site Manager at David Wilson Homes, gave the pupils a behind the scenes tour of the development and unveiled the winning posters which now take pride of place outside the Sales Office at David Wilson Homes’ Hewenden Ridge development in Cullingworth.

Andy said: “We were really impressed with all the fantastic posters the pupils created but we’re thrilled that Harden Primary School visited the site today to see the winning designs in situ. It’s vital to us to support the communities in which we build, and do our bit to ensure children are safe in the area around our development.”

Kirsty Hutchinson, Headteacher at Harden Primary School, commented: “We were thrilled to be invited by David Wilson Homes to Hewenden Ridge to see the three winning designs on display and to tour the site. The children had so much fun and their posters did a fantastic job of promoting road safety in the village!”
