29-home development in York city centre reaches completion
A residential development in the centre of York comprising 29 new homes has been completed.
St John’s Mews, situated a short distance from York Minster on Penley’s Grove Street, has been completed by developer Caedmon Homes.
Located on the site of the former Groves House Care Home, the development comprises 29 one, two and three bedroom apartments.
Marketed through selling agents Savills, the apartments have already attracted interest ahead of completion, with nine of the properties sold ‘off plan’.
The development is one of the latest to emerge in York, with a series of residential schemes both recently completed and currently underway in the historic city.
Paul Brown, director of Caedmon Homes commented: “We have been absolutely delighted with the continuing level of interest and sales rate at St John’s Mews, a resounding endorsement of our development.”
Anne Haggas, associate director at Savills, commented: “We have had some tremendously positive reaction to the development with its location, its views – with York Minster as a backdrop – and the tranquil community feel of the neighbourhood.
She added: “It has been a pleasure to offer these properties to our very discerning residents.”
