North East builders' merchant creates new Yorkshire jobs with £1m investment
A North East-based builders’ merchant is set to create jobs in Yorkshire with a £1m investment into its regional team.
James Burrell Builders Merchants, which is based in Gateshead, is set to grow its teams in West and South Yorkshire to accommodate growing demand for its services.
The firm is investing £1m into its newly opened Rotherham branch, as well its key accounts team in Ossett near Wakefield.
Established over 140 years ago, James Burrell Builders Merchants supplies construction materials and tools, with customers including Persimmon Homes, Miller Homes, Bellway Homes, Sir Robert McAlpine, Robertson Construction and McCarthy & Stone.
The firm expects to create eight new jobs from the investment, as well as accelerating its expansion into areas such as Doncaster, Sheffield and Barnsley.
James Burrell’s head of company sales, Michael Fahey, commented: “As a company, we already have established key accounts teams across the North East and Yorkshire and we are delighted to be continuing our growth and investment in South Yorkshire.
“We are very lucky to have such talented and passionate staff across all aspects of the business and the new team at Rotherham is no different.
“They bring with them a wealth of product, industry and local knowledge and customers can expect the high level of service that James Burrell has a well-earned reputation for.”
