Belmayne kicks off grassroots links

Two north Sheffield community sports organisations have received a financial boost, thanks to Dronfield-based Belmayne.

The independent chartered financial planners have sponsored Wortley RUFC and Stocksbridge Park Steels FC, showing their support for grassroots sport across the city.

Belmayne is backing the mini and junior teams at Wortley. Partner, Ben Smalley, said: “We really admired the culture of inclusivity and camaraderie that is fostered by the club. Each child knows they are not just playing rugby for themselves, but that they are an important part of a team. This is a valuable life lesson that will stand them in great stead for the rest of their lives.”

Belmayne has also taken pitch side advertising at Stocksbridge Park Steels FC, a northern premier division one, south east club, which is well respected within the local community, fielding 22 squads, comprising more than 400 players.

Wortley RUFC chairman, Den Plaistow, who runs the under 11s team, said: “The generosity of local businesses is essential to our survival and we are very grateful to Belmayne for showing its support for the work we do. Commercial sponsorship enables us to give the boys a professional kit that adds to their sense of identity and helps unite the team, reinforcing the life lessons we instil through the medium of sport.”
