£4.1m York development set to deliver 32 new homes

National contractor Tolent has secured a £4.1m contract to construct a new residential development just outside of York city centre.

The firm, which has been awarded the contract by client Modernstiq, will deliver 32 new homes at the site on Redeness Street.

Comprising four storeys, the building will offer a mix of one and two bedroom apartments, as well as a private roof terrace on the fourth floor.

Work is currently underway on the development, which is scheduled for completion in late 2020.

Regional director for Tolent, John Currie, commented: “We’re delighted to have been awarded this contract and to be working with Modernistiq for the first time.

“Tolent is an expert in the residential sector, having completed over £1bn of work spanning from large-scale housing regeneration projects to high-rise apartment blocks across the country.

“This project is a fantastic opportunity for us to now showcase this expertise to a new audience across the Yorkshire region and beyond.”

Marc Black, partner at Modernistiq, added: “We are delighted to be working with Tolent on this project.

“The whole team has been forward thinking and developer friendly in their approach to this development.”
