BBC MasterChef finalist part of £500k restaurant and bar near York creating 20 jobs
New restaurant and bar Twine & Barrel has opened its doors following a £500k refurbishment.
The new hospitality venue sits on the site of an old country pub on the A1079, outside York and in the village of Dunnington.
Former MasterChef finalist and head chef Dan Graham is at the helm of the site, and 20 new jobs have been created for it. The bar and restaurant - including food menus by Dan - offers a complete all-day dining experience.
Local owners Richard Brosenitz and Roger Mann wanted to open a restaurant which offered people an alternative to the many chains on offer, and have teamed up with local interior designer, Rachel McLane, to create an interior with log fires and supposedly spacious dining areas.
An event space with WiFi connection is available to book for business meetings, functions and workshops and for special occasions and parties with car parking available.
Roger Mann, owner of Twine & Barrel, said: “We wanted to create a space where families, groups of friends and businesses alike could meet any day of the week and enjoy delicious, wholesome local food in a stylish and comfortable environment.
“Our ethos is very much to provide high-quality food with excellent service.
“I am confident that we have brought together a team that can deliver that with our head chef, Dan, and our general manager, Mark Deeming, having over 35 years of experience between them!”
Head Chef, Dan Graham, has worked for many world-famous chefs including Albert and Michel Roux Jr, and has also worked overseas at hotels and villas in France and Greece.
Following this, he returned to Yorkshire to take over as head chef from James Martin at the Talbot Hotel in Malton.
Dan added: “I am really proud of what we have created at Twine & Barrel. We want people to visit us and know that whatever time of day it is, they’re guaranteed to be able to enjoy a tasty plate of food, snack or simply a good coffee or beer!
“There aren’t many places in the area where you can visit for either a breakfast business meeting, evening meal or Sunday lunch with the family.”
