Staffordshire accountancy firm appoints new management team
A local accountancy firm which has supported business owners for more than 100-years has a new management team.
From its King Street office in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Chartered Accountants Dean Statham deal with all aspects of accountancy, taxation and business planning.
Associate Director Heather Tweddle started her career with one of the industry’s top four firms and has extensive knowledge of both accountancy and taxation matters. She is both a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor and joined the team at Dean Statham last year.
Heather is joined on the team by Senior Managers Ben Halstead and Rebecca Nott. Heather said: “Dean Statham has a long-standing and trusted reputation in the business community, but as a young management team we want to bring new and fresh ideas.
“As a mid-size accountancy firm, we’re big enough to provide the required specialisms and expertise but are still able to build relationships with our clients and have that personal touch.”
The team has embraced the tax and accountancy world’s digital transformation and has a good and comprehensive understanding of changing legislation which enables them to provide the right advice to clients at the right time.
Chartered Accountant Ben joined the firm in 2017 and has an extensive client portfolio across many sectors. He said: “We are no longer just an accountancy firm, we recognise the need for added value and provide clients with business planning advice at all stages of their business journey.
“Our aim is to help business owners make smart business decisions that work towards their long-term professional and personal goals. For start-ups who join us now, we can be their accountants for the life of their business.”
Rebecca joined the firm earlier this year and has a strong technical background, specialising in audit. She added: “The firm’s approach to audit is very much about adding value and making useful recommendations which can benefit the business. This can often get lost and audit can become a time-consuming compliance exercise which is not useful to anyone.”
Dean Statham also plans to continue to develop its links with the community in Newcastle-under-Lyme. So far this year, the team has raised money for several local charities, including the Dougie Mac and Alice Charity.
“The company is in a fantastic position and we have ambitious plans for further growth,” continued Heather.
“Ben, Rebecca and I are excited about this new challenge. Individually we have a mixed skill-set and we’re looking forward to combining that knowledge and expertise to add value for our clients.”
