P C Henderson Donates to Newcastle Based Charity - The Peoples Kitchen
Co. Durham based sliding door hardware manufacturer - P C Henderson - is delighted to have continued its annual tradition this year and donated six Christmas turkeys to a Newcastle based charity which supports homeless and vulnerable people.
Each year P C Henderson gifts each of its employees with a Christmas turkey to enjoy with their friends and family over the festive period. As part of P C Henderson’s commitment to support local and national charities, the company also donates a number of turkeys to The People’s Kitchen so that those less fortunate can enjoy a Christmas turkey on the big day.
Established in 1985, The People’s Kitchen relies solely on volunteers to provide a range of services to homeless and disadvantaged people. Services include clothes, warm surroundings, toiletries, friendship, ongoing support and hot food. The charity serves up over 100 hot meals most nights and with the addition of the extra meals they serve on the streets this equates to over 40,000 hot meals being served per year.
“As a company we’re committed to supporting a wide range of charities throughout the year – these are mostly national charities so it’s also great to be able to give back to a charity that’s making such a difference on a local level. The Peoples Kitchen is based very close to our UK offices – it’s great to know that we’re helping local people in need - particularly at this time of year”, commented Trevor Cossins, Managing Director at P C Henderson.
Charities that P C Henderson has supported this year include Macmillan, Children in Need, Save the Children and most recently The Peoples Kitchen – raising a fantastic combined total of £730 plus the 6 turkeys donated.
