Loganair introduces Newcastle to Aberdeen route for 2020 commuters
Scottish airline Loganair is introducing a bigger aircraft to its Newcastle to Aberdeen route.
From Monday January 13, a 49-seat Embraer 145 jet aircraft is taking over morning and evening services on the route, increasing seat capacity by 21 per cent.
Loganair launched its Newcastle-Aberdeen services on September 1, 2019. The latest data, published by the UK Civil Aviation Authority, is said to show that passenger numbers have increased by over 200 per cent since Loganair’s arrival.
Loganair’s chief commercial officer, Kay Ryan, said: “We are delighted customers have responded so positively to our service between Newcastle and Aberdeen.
“It’s clear that passengers really value the Loganair product, in particular our frequent flyer programme, Clan Loganair.”
A majority of customers on the route are supposedly choosing to fly with Loganair. CAA punctuality data for October 2019 shows that the rival airline’s flights between Newcastle and Aberdeen were nearly five times more likely to be cancelled than Loganair services.
