Yorkshire and London software developer invests in future graduates with major scheme
Leeds and London-based software development company Audacia is celebrating the success of its new graduate training and development scheme with full-time positions for all candidates.
The business, which employs 46 staff, developed the programme to offer new graduates an intensive introduction to the world of software development.
The three-month course, which launched in August 2019, consists of modules designed to bolster technical skills, apply said expertise to a corporate environment and help cross-team working.
Each graduate was assigned a mentor and was tasked to develop a full-stack application to ensure they applied their learnt knowledge to real-world projects.
Richard Brown said: “This entire scheme comes from a need to get more people into the industry from non-computer science backgrounds by providing a solid learning foundation, instead of a more daunting learn-as-you-go training style.
“We firmly believe that anyone with great problem-solving skills will benefit from our training scheme, so for the 2020 scheme we are sending out the message to all those starting their career or with the desire to go in a new direction to get in touch.
“This year’s graduates are now working on live systems with great confidence. The senior team and I are incredibly proud of the results from our first year and are looking forward to launching the 2020 scheme.”
Audacia will be launching the same programme this year with a larger applicant capacity, and also has plans to launch a graduate tester scheme, for graduates looking to progress their career in tech to a specialist field such as software testing.
