Wine bar and kitchen set to bring new flavour to Peckham
A new neighbourhood wine bar and kitchen is set to launch in South London later this week.
Peckham Cellars will open its doors on Thursday (January 9) near to Queens Road Peckham station.
Established by hospitality veterans and friends Helen Hall, Luke West-Whylie and Ben McVeigh, the new restaurant and bar will specialise in a range of wines from around the world as well as a full menu of snacks and main dishes.
Helen, whose CV includes time in the kitchen of Rovi, will oversee the kitchen alongside head chef Jay Claus, who was previously at the likes of Quo Vadis, Morito and Bao.
Luke, formerly of Marcella in Deptford and The Jones Family Kitchen, will lead the front of house team, while Ben, formerly head sommelier at 28-50 Fetter Lane, will head up the bar and bottle shop.
Co-founders Helen Hall, Luke West-Whylie and Ben McVeigh commented: “We want Peckham Cellars to feel like your coolest friend’s dinner party - informal, fun, but with a real focus on quality.”
“We’re guided by provenance and flavour, and our guests can come to us for everything from stopping by for a quick glass to lingering over a three-course dinner or Sunday lunch.”
