Newcastle furniture manufacturer celebrates record sales growth
Jarrow-based Funky Chunky Furniture sales have reached ‘record’ levels.
In the run up to Christmas 2019, Funky Chunky Furniture’s - an online retailer and furniture manufacturer - sales rose by 31 per cent in December and 17 per cent in November.
The sales increase is said to mark a conscious shift in market focus for Funky Chunky Furniture as it continues to expand its furniture product range.
Kevin Johnston, managing director, said: “We forecast a strong festive period, but the figures surpassed even our expectations.
“Since rebranding in September last year, our focus has been on growing the furniture side of the business. Our signature rustic design has proved popular with consumers, as has our commitment to exceptional customer service and quality craftsmanship.
“The record sales are due to the increase in furniture sales, and the larger average online basket price. We saw significant growth across all our furniture, but it was the larger products such as beds and dining tables that sold particularly well.”
He added: “We’ve set ourselves ambitious growth targets for the coming year, which include expanding our team and our product range even further, and have exciting plans for the coming months.”
