Sunderland tech company set for 2020 expansion with 30 new digital roles
Sunderland tech company Saggezza is preparing for growth with up to 30 new appointments expected this year.
Saggezza will expand its employee base in the city by up to 50 per cent after seeing global sales soar in 2019.
The digital business provides software solutions for clients including a global private investment bank and credit card brand.
The business completed a number of new partnership deals last year to aide its offer to clients and accelerate its expansion.
In addition, the firm has also agreed the acquisition of two companies which has expanded its worldwide headcount.
Lucy Harber, head of HR and operations at Saggezza, said the company was expecting 2020 to be a record year of growth.
She commented: “We have enjoyed rapid expansion since we opened our Sunderland office and we expect this to continue at pace.
“We have a number of roles to add to the team and we are looking forward to welcoming new faces as we grow.
“Our approach has always been to find people with the right attitude and ethos, customer-focused individuals with a can-do approach to work and we hope to be able to find more talented people who can grow with our business in a variety of roles. Ultimately, if we find the right people, we will create opportunities for them.”
The company now employs more than 60 people in its UK office and has growing teams in India and the US.
Sunderland Software Centre is the base for most of the company’s UK employees, with the firm’s London team also growing. Among the roles the company is recruiting for in Sunderland are delivery managers, business analysts, Java developers and cloud specialists.
Saggezza opened its Sunderland office in 2014 and is seeking business development leads to support with the ongoing expansion of its client base, which includes a global investment bank and international blue-chip brands.
Ms Harber added: “Sunderland is a fantastic location for us and services many of our global clients. We have been delighted with the callibre of talent we have been able to attract as the business has grown.
“We are sure our North East base will continue to be an important global location for us as we expand around the world.”
