Amazon opens Clicks and Mortar store in Leeds
A Clicks and Mortar pop-up shop has opened in Leeds offering customers the chance to discover environmentally-friendly wellness and activewear products.
Small business support network Enterprise Nation, in partnership with Amazon, Square and Direct Line for Business has opened the UK’s fifth Clicks and Mortar pop-up shop in Trinity Leeds shopping centre.
The shop will feature more than 15 online wellness and activewear brands from across the UK and staff will be meeting customers and selling in store for the first time as people look to improve their well-being.
Clicks and Mortar Leeds will give shoppers the chance to discover health and well-being products and services from up-and-coming brands in this growing sector.
They include Supernova an organic, plant-based superfoods protein powder that uses sustainable packaging to reduce plastic waste, and OC Gear, an eco-clothing brand dedicated to the education and clean-up of Ocean waste.
Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation, said: “The store will give Leeds shoppers access to these ground-breaking products on their own doorstep, including cutting edge beauty and anti-aging products, fitness accessories as well as innovations aimed at increasing mental well-being.
“The shops are aimed at giving local communities a way to support UK small businesses, while getting direct access to products that are only usually available online.”
Clicks and Mortar is a collaboration between Amazon, Enterprise Nation, Square and Direct Line for Business. The year-long programme has seen pop-up shops opened across to the UK, enabling small online businesses to experience selling on the high street for the first time.
The featured businesses have all built successful brands selling online and now want to explore physical retail for the first time.
As well as selling directly to customers, building awareness of their brand and learning from other growing businesses, the featured sellers will all be able to access on-site business advisers to help them scale, both online and in physical retail.
Doug Gurr, Amazon UK country manager said: “As a proud Yorkshireman, I know that Leeds is home to some fantastic up-and-coming businesses with great brands and exciting products.
“Clicks and Mortar is part of Amazon’s commitment to support the growth of small businesses across Yorkshire and the UK – helping them to grow their brands both online and in physical retail, as well as boosting the UK economy and creating jobs.”
The new concept store will be open until 31 March 2020.
