New Decade Sees Miller Homes Committed To Delivering Even More Homes in Yorkshire Region

With a predicted 18,000 homes required in the Yorkshire and Humber region in the coming years, housebuilders are working hard to meet targets and deliver quality homes for all.

To support this, leading housebuilder Miller Homes has a clear strategy in its Yorkshire area and 2020 will see it capitalise on its 2019 construction rate with almost 650 homes planned per annum by 2021.

“There has been a significant increase in the homes we have delivered over the last couple of years and plans are in place to continue escalating this number across both rural and urban communities,” said Debbie Whittingham, Sales Director, Miller Homes Yorkshire. “Our team are well placed to succeed in the delivery of our vision and this not only includes the building of the homes, but the support we offer to buyers and the places in which we secure land so that our residents are part of a wider community.”

The housebuilder will unveil five further new developments in the first half of 2020 – The Lodge at City Fields, Wakefield, The Gables at City Fields in Wakefield, Spring Wood Park in Bramhope, Kings Park in Drighlington and Applewood in Mirfield. Plans for further developments in the latter half of the year are also underway.

In addition, many of the developments make contributions to facilities in the community such as play areas, educational facilities and transport infrastructure. In 2019 significant investments were made by the housebuilder in Yorkshire through Section 106 contributions totalling a £1.48 million investment.

“2020 will allow us to join more communities where we have not had developments before and bring new ways to customers of reserving and making the choices within their individual homes,” said Debbie. “To support this ongoing growth, we will continue to invest in the infrastructure of the business ensuring we have skilled, knowledgeable and, above all, committed staff who uphold all that Miller Homes stands for.”

To facilitate this ongoing growth, it is anticipated additional construction staff and sub-contractors will be required along with additional resilience in the Wakefield office.
