Bristol homeless charity benefits from Community Fund donation

David Wilson Homes has given Caring in Bristol a much-needed boost – by donating £1,000.

Taken from its Community Fund, the money provided will support the charity’s work in helping those experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in the city.

Caring in Bristol doesn’t just work to help people find somewhere to stay, but also creates sustainable plans to reduce and end homelessness for the future; developing necessary services and public engagement to create permanent change in Bristol, and beyond.

“Caring in Bristol is an incredible organisation, working across a variety of different projects to help people who are vulnerable or homeless, as well as raising awareness and support. I’m incredibly proud that our staff from across the division have gotten behind the organisation too, making enough food donations for the night shelter to fill an entire car,” said Ian Menham, David Wilson Homes managing director.

“Fundraising is essential to help continue their work, so we had no hesitation in helping them through our Community Fund. Winter is a difficult time of year for people experiencing homelessness and we are glad to be able to help such a worthy cause in providing vital services for people in need.”

The Community Fund is a dedicated resource for backing local causes which improve the quality of life for those living in the region.

Ben Richardson, charity director at Caring in Bristol, added: “There are always people we can help and at this time of year people can find life very stressful and the risk of homelessness increases. We offer people a range of medical and wellbeing services as well as shelter, food and warmth so there’s a lot to do! This fantastic donation couldn’t have come at a better time – and we are extremely grateful to David Wilson Homes for its support.”

David Wilson Homes has pledged to support those living in areas where it is building new communities and makes monthly donations to good causes.
