Recruitment drive for care home following completion of £1.25m refurbishment
A specialist nursing care home in Hull has officially opened following a multi-million pound refurbishment.
St Andrew’s Court, located in west Hull near Gipsyville, was opened earlier this week by Cllr Steve Wilson, Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull.
Covering two floors, and with a two-bedroom house next door, the facility can support a total of 20 adults, specialising in care for adults with complex conditions such as dementia, mental health conditions, physical and neuro-disabilities, brain injury and stroke.
The home, which is operated by Exemplar Health Care, is recruiting for support workers and nurses following the £1.25m refurbishment.
Kath Dye, commissioning home director of St Andrew’s Court, commented: “Our goal at St Andrew’s Court was to employ as many local people as possible – and we are pleased that we have been able to retain existing staff as well as recruiting local nurses, carers and using businesses associated to the previous home and the local area.
“We have a one team approach which means all our colleagues have a real passion for ensuring we deliver excellent person-centred care, and they have all adapted brilliantly to help provide good team work and a special home to our service users.
The Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull, Cllr Steve Wilson, added: “I am absolutely delighted to be here for the opening of St Andrew’s Court.
“The team at Exemplar Health Care have done a fantastic job in converting the care home with such a high standard, and it’s fantastic to see so many locals working and supporting the care home.”
