Cheshire & Warrington announces lead sponsor for MIPIM 2020 mission
PATRIZIA, the leading global partner for pan-European real estate investment, is to be the headline sponsor of Cheshire and Warrington for the third consecutive time at this year’s MIPIM property and investment festival.
The pan-European investment company who are Asset Managers for Birchwood Park, Warrington, lead a current list of 19 businesses supporting the region at MIPIM, the world’s foremost property and investment event, which includes Arup and Peel Group.
MIPIM (Marché International des Professionels d’Immobilier) is a four-day event taking place over March 10-13 in Cannes, France, and attracts around 25,000 property professionals from more than 90 countries. It is also used by cities and regions to promote regeneration opportunities and attract investment.
It is the fourth time Cheshire and Warrington, led by the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), alongside its local authority partners, has established a significant showcase at the festival.
Martin O’Rourke, PATRIZIA’s commercial director responsible for Birchwood Park, said: “Our region is a hive of enterprise, from start-ups through to large multi-national organisations. There’s great optimism about the ability of Cheshire and Warrington to flourish, which we actively support through the continued development of Birchwood Park.
“We welcome this opportunity to once again use MIPIM as a showcase for our region and we stand shoulder to shoulder with the public sector to promote the extensive range of assets, capabilities and opportunities we have to offer here.”
Christine Gaskell CBE DL, chair of Cheshire and Warrington LEP, said: “Cheshire and Warrington is already an outstanding economy and one of the most successful and thriving regions in the country. Over the next decade, collectively, we can make it extraordinary and cement its importance in rebalancing the UK economy.
“We are delighted that PATRIZIA has again agreed to be our headline sponsor and that so many other businesses, large and small, are supporting us to deliver a comprehensive and wide-ranging programme at MIPIM.
“Birchwood Park is one of our major assets and one of the most important nuclear engineering skills clusters in the UK, whilst the Cheshire Science Corridor, of which Birchwood Park is a part, has the potential to supercharge our economy, attracting up to 20,000 jobs and 500 businesses. At MIPIM, we will be highlighting that success as a road-map for industry, infrastructure, jobs, homes and investment.
“Alongside this we will be promoting our green energy expertise and credentials, the opportunities in the Chester and Mersey Dee economic area including the revival of Chester city centre and the strategically important Chester Northgate project, as well as the impact on Crewe through the massive investment in HS2.
“The key to our future success will, though, be through continued public and private sector collaboration and it’s extremely pleasing that many businesses from last year have joined our mission again, with more to follow, keen to support our region and to promote it as an outstanding place to do business.”
Those businesses also joining the delegation to promote their schemes and seek international partnerships and new business include: Bruntwood, Grosvenor Estates, the University of Chester, Knights Plc, WSP, Glenbrook, Brock Carmichael, Gorvins, Harlex, Pegasus, The North West Business Leadership Team, This Solid Ground, Vector, Wildbrook Commercial Real Estate, Langtree.
