Growing North East gym expands into new £200k training centre

A County Durham gym has relaunched into new premises with support from a local independent property consultancy.

The building consultancy team at Naylors Gavin Black LLP has supported the interior design and build project for Spartan Performance’s new £200k strength training facility in Consett.

Spartan Performance has relocated to larger premises at Number One Industrial Estate after signing on for a £33k pa lease for the next five years.

Two-time winner of the British Natural Strongest Man competition, Jack Lovett, originally opened the first Spartan Performance gym in 2009.

The new premises offers private coaching programmes to its members and incorporates its own physiotherapy and sports massage clinic, with plans for further services to be added in the future.

Naylors Gavin Black designed the internal layout of the new 10,000 sq ft gym. Scott Clarke, senior building surveyor at Naylors Gavin Black, commented: “It’s been a privilege to work with Jack and help him realise his ambitions for Spartan Performance.

“Although the gym has only been open for a few weeks, he’s already seen tremendous feedback and word of mouth referrals are growing, which is particularly pleasing at this time of year. I look forward to seeing the business develop over the next five years and beyond.”
