Just Eat gets teeth into McDonald's delivery business
A UK food delivery company has announced that it’s teaming up with fast food giant McDonald’s.
Just Eat, which has recently been acquired by US food delivery business Takeaway.com, has said that the partnership will be implemented this year.
The company is McDonald’s second exclusive partner for its McDelivery service, being beaten to the punch by rival Deliveroo.
In today’s announcement, Just Eat also confirmed that it saw a UK order growth of 8 per cent, along with strong growth overseas.
It also predicted revenue of roughly £1bn for last year.
Peter Duffy, Just Eat’s interim CEO, said: “We are pleased to confirm EBITDA [earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation] towards the top end and revenue broadly in line with the guidance range we provided at the start of 2019, notwithstanding the significant developments during the year.
“We are delighted to announce that we have agreed to partner in the UK and Ireland with McDonald’s.
“This partnership, along with our recently announced relationship with Greggs, will require significant investment but will accelerate our growth ambitions and enhance our market position by offering our customers the widest choice available.”
