Leeds Law firm sees record turnover of £17m in year of expansion

Law firm Clarion has announced that it earned £17.42m in revenue for last year.

The record figure is a 20 per cent increase from the previous year, when it reached £14.52m.

In the last year, the firm has increased its workforce to 230, as well as an additional 45 in the months since the end of the financial year (31 May 2019).

Joint managing partner at Clarion, Roger Hutton, said: “Regardless of the ongoing Brexit uncertainty, the Yorkshire market remains vibrant and brave, enabling the firm to continue to show impressive growth.

“Our recruitment is continuing to accelerate, we have taken on additional office space and expanded our services.

“We’ve seen a particularly strong performance in our real estate practice which has experienced phenomenal demand and has doubled in size in the last two years as well as broadening our capability into the field of property disputes.

“Yorkshire is a great place for dynamic, entrepreneurial businesses and there are still lots of opportunities for them to grow, and ways in which we can support them.

“It is a buoyant market and people remain optimistic despite the current challenges.

“Last year was another great year for Clarion and our team, and our upward trajectory has continued in the months since our financial year end – we’ve already seen upward movement in the first quarter of our new financial year and have made a substantial number of investments.

“The signs are genuinely encouraging and we are looking forward with optimism to the next 12 months.”
