Tommee Tippee owner utilises innovative technology in new odour spray

Mayborn Group, owner of award-winning, global baby brand Tommee Tippee®, has partnered with Aqdot to provide the technology behind the innovative new Tommee Tippee® nappy odour neutralising spray for the baby market. As all parents know, the smells created when nappy changing are not a nice experience. The challenge is that parents don’t want to use artificial or strong fragrances around their baby to get rid of bad smells. The new Tommee Tippee® nappy odour neutralising spray utilises Aqdot’s patented supramolecular chemistry Aq™Bit. It is a novel and versatile performance chemistry that is exceptional at capturing, holding and releasing materials; in this case capturing malodour molecules and eliminating them from the air. It is so effective that there is absolutely no need for any masking fragrances. Aqdot has achieved a Platinum Material Health Certificate (MHC) for AqBit, which is the highest possible certification level. This demonstrates that all of the chemical ingredients of a product are optimised towards safer materials. Mayborn plans to sell the product with distinctive Tommee Tippee branding through major retailers and its own new e-commerce site. It will sell alongside the top-selling Tommee Tippee Nappy Bins and Twist & Click Refill system. Aqdot is starting to grow fast in the license and supply of its patented technology and is extending its openness to partnerships with other businesses to use the unique, high performance Aq™Bit technology.
Tim Wright, CEO of Aqdot, said: “We are delighted be working with Mayborn, to enable the company to use our unique chemistry to further develop its product range. “To be working in partnership with a globally known brand is a significant achievement for Aqdot and something of which we are rightly proud.” Peter Melville, Category Director at Mayborn Group, said: “When we were initially introduced to Aqdot it was obvious that there was a real synergy between the two businesses and an opportunity to work together. The licensing and supply of the Aq™Bit chemistry to Mayborn has enabled us to bring an innovative new baby and family-friendly product to the market.”
