Affordable homes provider brings Northumberland development to market
A North East social housing provider has launched a range of affordable homes in Northumberland.
Hellens Residential has introduced 14 new apartments on the outskirts of Ashington, which were recently completed by developer Persimmon Homes.
The development, known as Portland Park, comprises a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes, available under the government’s rent-to-buy scheme.
The properties are the first homes to be made available in Northumberland under the arrangement, which enables tenants to pay a reduced rent for five years as they save for a deposit.
Kate Hellens, managing director of Washington-based Hellens Residential, commented: “We pride ourselves on the flexibility we offer, with homes across the North East available for Rent to Buy, like in Portland Park, as well as shared ownership, discount sale and shared equity sale.
“With varied options like this, first-time-buyers never need compromise their vision but can move straight into quality housing in great locations, which they can manage financially without over stretching themselves.”
