Arden Dies leads the way with prestigious die-making accreditation
Arden Dies has made history by becoming the first UK die-maker to achieve a prestigious accreditation from BOBST.
BOBST – one of the world’s leading suppliers of machinery and services to packaging manufacturers – runs a Die-making Certification Programme, which is an advanced certification for professional die-makers.
Now Stockport-based Arden Dies has become the first die-maker in the UK and Ireland to achieve the coveted accreditation.
Simon Lynch, Operations and Sales Director at Arden Dies, said: “Arden Dies has been a leader in the die-making and packaging industry in the UK for more than half a century and we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of innovation, so we are delighted to be the first in the UK and Ireland to become BOBST certified.
“The objective of the accreditation is to deliver tooling and press performance within the certified standards agreed by both our businesses and ensure our shared customer base optimise their conversion machine and tooling investments.
“We intend to now build on our great existing relationship with BOBST, by working closer together and we are confident the new accreditation will help further cement our position as the UK’s leading die-maker.”
The rigorous certification programme involved an on-site audit at Arden Dies’ purpose-built factory site in Marple, Stockport, as well as a tooling machine validation trial at the Bobst Competence Centre in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Arden Dies, which is part of the Arden Group also comprising Arden Engraving and Arden Software, was established in 1964 and specialises in die and tooling manufacture for the packaging and carton industry.
Alex Volery, Head of BOBST Tooling Division, said: “We have developed the Die-maker Certification Program because we believe that die-makers play a key role in the delivery of efficient, high-quality converting operations.
“Converters need to be confident that their die-makers have the skills, understanding and equipment required to produce high-quality dies - the BOBST Die-maker Certification Program is a guarantee of excellence. Therefore, we are delighted to have Arden Dies on board as the first certified die-maker in the UK and Ireland.”
As part of the certification programme, Arden staff will take part in a training course at the BOBST Competence Centre, to help them gain a better understanding of convertors’ tooling requirements and upstream processes.
