New homes for West Newcastle as construction begins on residential development
Construction has begun on a new residential development at the site of a former school in West Newcastle.
Developer Bellway North East is building 39 new homes on the vacant site of Grange Road School in Fenham.
Known as The Grange, the new development will comprise a range of four and five-bedroom detached houses.
Bellway’s plans for the development were approved by Newcastle City Council in May 2019, also include public open space being provided on the site.
Bellway North East head of sales, Chris Lawson, commented: “We have now started work on site at The Grange and are looking forward to releasing the first properties for sale this summer.
“We’ve received a great deal of interest in the development so far, as this is a very rare chance for people to buy a new-build detached home just three miles from Newcastle city centre.
“Purchasers at The Grange will instantly become part of a smart, well-established residential area, with plenty of local facilities close by, including shops and schools. The interest we’ve had so far has been down to the amazing location of the development, both from local people and those searching for a home in the city from further afield.”
